Australian made has always been an important part of The Knit Studio. Since 2008 our personalised blankets and knitwear have been made right here on the Mornington Peninsula and nearly 20 years later, that is something we're incredibly proud of.
In a world of fast fashion and mass production, Australian made isn't just a label we put on our products - its the cornerstone of everything we do. We knit every piece to order, overseeing the process from start to finish to maintain the quality our customers rely on.
The Australian textile and clothing industry has shifted dramatically since we began, with most manufacturing moving overseas. Continuing to make our blankets and knitwear locally allows us to:

- Preserve Craftsmanship: Retain the traditional skills and knowledge required to make long-lasting knitted goods.
It isn't always the easiest or cheapest path, but it's a choice we are proud to stand by.
Our blankets and knitwear are sent to customers throughout Australia and around the world, including the United States, United Kingdom and Europe. It's incredibly satisfying to see the quality of Australian-made products recognised and chosen by families across the globe.
We also believe a local business is only as strong as the community around it. Thanks to the support we've received over the years, we've been fortunate to give back in our own small way. From donating to local sporting clubs, schools and preschools to hospitals and the less fortunate, being able to support the people and the organisations around us means a great deal.
We started out selling at Peninsula markets and today have our studio and shop in Dromana alongside our online store. One of the most rewarding parts of staying local is connecting with long-term customers - whether it's someone stopping by to show us a jumper they bought 12 years ago or to order a new personalised blanket for their seventh grandchild, these stories are a lovely reminder of why we continue to make our products locally on the Mornington Peninsula.
